Amalia was created by an international group of developers.
We're happy to meet you.
Chris Van Patten is a scenographer, graphic artist, and director. In addition to work as a theatre artist (designing productions of "RENT", "Guys And Dolls", and others), Chris has built websites and lead the creation of web software for nearly six years. His Internet work focuses on giving small businesses and arts organizations the power to control their web identity, a mission visibly executed in Amalia.
Peter Upfold is a 20-year-old technology enthusiast, independent web developer, programmer and blogger. He's passionate about technology and loves using computers. His particular interests lie in operating systems, web development, user interfaces and programming, but he enjoys dabbling in all sorts of technology and the issues surrounding it. He has produced several open source programs, two aimed towards website developers and designers and one for converting fonts from one format to another.
Nick Sampsell is a multi-faceted developer, working in PHP, Python, Javascript, Actionscript, and frameworks like Django, jQuery, and Flex. He builds dynamic, communications-based software, such as web forums, groupware, and similar products. As a freelancer, he has completed work for clients in New York's Southern Tier and beyond. Nick is currently pursuing a career in English education.
Jacob Peddicord is a student, web, and software developer. He is a staff member at the Ubuntu Forums and contributes to other areas of Ubuntu. He currently maintain FOSSwire, a popular open-source collaborative news and tutorials website. He builds web applications using Python and Django, and also enjoys creating desktop software using Python, Vala, and GTK+. Jacob created the first version of Amalia, and the principles he built into that first version continue to influence us.
